Bobby Caldwell, best known as a gentle titan of blue-eyed soul, crossed the boundaries between genres with consummate ease. He was a musical icon of true class and versatility, appreciated the world over. Tragically, he passed away in March 2023 at the far too young age of 71, and there is still a feeling that Bobby's true artistic output is far too little appreciated. His double platinum self-titled debut from 1978 is a timeless masterpiece of refined, jazzy soul brilliance and is considered absolutely canonical.
