George Michael's follow-up to the massive success of Faith found him turning inward trying to gain critical acclaim as well as sales. Arranged, produced and almost completely written by George himself, it was less synth-heavy and the perfect showcase for George’s truly exceptional voice. Excellent songwriting and great performances throughout this very emotional album which eloquently confirmed him as a pioneering, agenda-setting artist.
