This album brought the organ out of the church and into funky groove territory bridging the gap between post bop and the soul music of greats such as Ray Charles. This album reaches the peak of soul jazz that all other challengers of the genre would have to live up to. The warm gurgling tones of Hammond B3 organ permeate every nook and cranny of this wonderful set of instrumental soul-jazz.
