The gold standard of early 1990s power pop revival, this record was as much a benchmark as contemporary records like Nevermind and Loveless. Warm and enjoyable jangle pop/rock, catchy, laid back songs with lyricism hinting at deprivation and regret that heralded the return of melody and craft, coupled with energy and spirit. A fantastic record and highly influential.
