Aswad's debut was one of the band's strongest efforts. It highlighted the plight of the immigrant Jamaican in the unfamiliar and often hostile environment of 1970s London. The sound is a melodic, jazz tinged, roots reggae affair with some vocal highlights and the songs are some of the greatest reggae Britain ever produced!
