The Nigerian musician Fel Kuti is considered the founder of Afrobeat and all the ingredients of the legendary Afrobeat sound are perfectly laid out here. Thematically the album oscillates between colonialism, personal experiences and heartache. The instrumentation and the overall arrangements prove to be some of the most interesting and innovative of Fela's '70s material. An absolute must have release.
