White Stripes display an impressive range of styles on their second album. The album's is more diverse than the band's debut and incorporates elements of bubblegum, cabaret and classic rock. The production is cleaner and the overall sound is much bluesier, it is somehow more intricate and stripped-down at the same time but still backs up Jack White's arty leanings with enough rock muscle.
